Joy Irene Wildermuth, 74, of Hamptonville died Monday, December 29, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born December 19, 1940, in Catskill, New York, and was the daughter of the late Frederick M. and Clara Edith Cook Egnor. She was a retired nurse and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Jonesville. She enjoyed camping and traveling along with her husband. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Lora Cook and Holly Lombardi. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Stanley E. Wildermuth, whom she married on March 22, 1959; three daughters, Kim (Tim) Wickman of Charleston, SC, Marsha Daves (Tim Sweet) of Summerville, SC, and Sheryl (Curt) Richmond of Lisbon, CT; a son, Wayne (Cindy) Wildermuth of New London, CT; a son-in-law, John Lombardi of Waterford, CT; three sisters, Marlene Merritt of Schenectady, NY, Sheila Mahoney of Sun City West, AZ, and Linda Dee of New Port Ritchey, FL; a brother, Ronald Egnor of Uncasville, CT; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral service celebrating Joy's life will be held at 11:00 Friday, January 2, 2015, in the Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Kline officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday, January 1, 2015, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
